The detective submits his reports of the case he is working to his client. But is his client satisfied with his work?

As he entered the room, I suited up to look more confident. He was in his best attire. A couple of his assistants followed him and stood behind him as he comfortably sat in one of the chairs.
The silence broke with his voice –
‘So Mr. Nair how’s my case going? I hope you are done with your research and all that detective stuff.’
He said looking to me and then with a smile looking at his assistants. I knew it was a taunt to me and he just wanted to insult me. But he didn’t know he was messing with the wrong person.
I did not lose my cool. In fact, I stood up with professionalism, and handing him my reports, I said –
‘Yes. Please do have a look at this.’
I could see the smile on his face. He was satisfied with my reports. After all, my hard work the night before paid out. I succeeded. However, I did not jump out with joy. I waited for his response.
‘Mr. Nair’, he said standing up and walking towards me, ‘I am really impressed the way you tackled my case. Let’s just take a walk outside.’
I nodded in agreement and we headed for a walk around his villa. Somewhere deep within I knew this feeling. I knew that this case had something more to do.
