"The Pain of A Lifetime Promise" is a poem about a special promise made to a special someone and how difficult it gets to follow that special promise and live each day.

PAIN OF A LIFETIME PROMISE

Poem

Tears fill up my eyes
Makes it difficult to see,
I still remember that fateful day
When you made this promise to me...

The childish mind never thought so deep
While I playfully accepted your words at ease,
And now I know how big of an idiot I am!
I never knew the future; I could never ever see!

You were hurt; you were in pain
And yet, you simply made me at ease,
You fooled me with that truth, it wasn't a lie
The words you said - "Boy, never must you cry..."

Careless, I was busy playing with you
I gave a nod without looking your eyes,
The game was over and I lost
Maybe I lost the game of Life...

I didn't understand it until that fateful day
And I still don't get it till today,
The Promise of A Lifetime which I made
The pain of which will never fade...

Tears still fill up my eyes
And it makes insanely difficult to see,
When I remember that fateful day
When you made this promise to me...
