The 2014 Peshawar School Massacre was the deadliest terrorist attack that happened in Pakistan. Many innocent school children were killed in this nightmare. I became restless after I came to know of this incident. Few days later, the Higher Being showed me a dream of these poor souls. It was a message for me, to write something dedicated to them – “The Nightmare“.

This poem is my silent prayer for everyone who could never make back home to their family. May all their souls rest in eternal peace. Amen.

The Nightmare

The morning Sun shined bright
It was just another day at school,
Never did it seem something’s not right
Until it got raided by fools…

It was scary Mom, I was too scared to run
I just wished Dad was here for once,
He would beat them, he would save us,
He would free us from those people with guns…

We were afraid, we lost our friends
We cried.. what else could we do?
We had no choice but to run
It is a bad dream come true…

The Nightmare - A Poem by Nitin

I wish if I stayed home today
In the warmth of your laps,
Listening Dad’s stories new
I wish I was lucky among those few…

I want to say it but I can’t anymore
I want to be your child,
In the next life and then after that
You will be forever in my heart…

If you look above the sky
I will be the brightest twinkle up there,
Smiling down at you always
I would really miss your care…

The day wasn’t a day anymore
It was a nightmare at school,
Never did it seem something’s not right
Until it got raided by fools…

Don't miss out!
